Monique Hopgood-Willis - Meningitis in your words
I contracted bacterial meningitis at two and a half years old. I slipped into a coma for two weeks. The doctors told my parents I wasn't going to make it and if I did, I would be severely handicapped.

I did make it but had to relearn everything. I have scarring on the brain, epilepsy, and severe cognitive impairments. I may not remember but my body does! I have struggles but I thank God to be alive. I'm a student studying neuroscience so I can understand the brain better.

My experience has been complicated not knowing a lot of answers, I would say ask questions!
