Your donations power progress

Every breakthrough begins with you.

Your support fuels life-saving research, unites people across continents, and helps shape global action through our partnerships with scientists, families, and advocates.

Here in the UK and Ireland, you also help us be there for everyone affected – offering expert information, emotional support, and a community that understands.

Together, we’re protecting lives and accelerating the race to defeat meningitis.
  • Preventing meningitis

Our research uncovered the source of a deadly MenW strain and led to UK ACWY vaccine updates to better protect millions of people.

  • Increased awareness

We coordinate World Meningitis Day, the world’s largest day of collective action on meningitis. In 2024, through our CoMO network, 135 countries joined together to raise awareness and drive change to defeat meningitis.

  • Global action

We worked with the WHO to help set up the first Wilton Park meeting, which contributed to the development of the Global Road Map to Defeat Meningitis by 2030. We play a key role on the Road Map's Technical Task Force group as the only member with a sole focus on meningitis to make sure your voices are heard.

Dianne's story

"You made me feel like I wasn't alone, and that I could call anytime if I needed someone to talk to. I never felt like I was taking up time – you were so generous and supportive."

When Dianne's husband John became unwell his early symptoms were no different to flu. But his condition rapidly deteriorated.

"Ours was a sudden loss with no warning and not having that chance to hold John and tell him how much I loved him (although he knew) was so hard. There was no time to adjust to our life without him."

Your donations help to fund our Helpline so that we can be there for people like Dianne, so that no-one has to face meningitis alone.
