Save the date for World Meningitis Day 2020

World Meningitis Day 2020 is Friday 24 April.

World Meningitis Day 2020 highlights the importance of prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and improving support for those dealing with the potentially devastating after effects of this deadly disease.

World Meningitis Day is led by the Confederation of Meningitis Organisations (COMO).  Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) is a member of COMO, and each year MRF and the charity’s supporters focus on a different aspect of the disease and share the theme to raise awareness.

This year's theme for World Meningitis Day is Defeat Meningitis. We can all play a part in defeating meningitis.  The campaign will focus on why we need to defeat meningitis and the steps we can all take to make it reality.

MRF is looking for stories to help us raise awareness in news and social media.

What does defeating meningitis mean to you? If you'd like to share your experience to help MRF raise awareness of how we can defeat meningitis please get in touch.

MRF Chief Executive Vinny Smith explains how we're going to defeat meningitis by 2030.
Meningitis and septicaemia are serious, life threatening illnesses
Every day we hear from individuals and families affected by or at risk of meningitis and septicaemia. By listening to their stories, and with nearly 30 years of experience, we have developed a good understanding of what they need to be protected, treated and supported. This strategy is written for them, from their perspective, so that no one is left behind.
The 'Strengthening Patient Voices' project was launched in 2018 between MRF and CoMO.
