Clive Edmondson

I contracted meningococcal septicaemia in 1972 when I was 16.

I was lucky to be diagnosed after 3 days by a doctor at Hammersmith hospital who had seen one other case.
I remained in hospital for a month as I had kidney failure and scarring. I did walk with a slight limp for a short time and suffered from the effect of to many antibiotics. But by the time I was in my late twenties the symptoms disappeared and I was left relatively unscathed.

"I count myself extremely lucky"

I count myself extremely lucky and hope that my post illness photos and information was hopefully put to good use. I hope my story will encourage any current sufferers.

Best of luck with your research!
