Brooklyn was born on 12th October 2018.
At 9 days old we called the hospital as all night he screamed, had the sweats, cold sick and wouldn't open his eyes.
After a lumber puncture, they confirmed our son had bacterial meningitis and he required medication urgently.
He was on 3 different antibiotics by cannula, then long line. 35 days in total he was in hospital receiving treatment. He was given a further MRI scan which showed this also caused a bleed to the brain. Such a scary time.
1st of December he was discharged and bug free - the greatest feeling ever, but the worry and fear will always be with me.
He is now 6 months old and is an amazing little guy. He’s had regular checks for hearing and limbs to ensure it hasn't affected anything.
So far so good. He is a fighter.
