Amelie Rose Thorn
On the 15th of January 2012 after an hour and half of labour we welcomed our beautiful baby girl to the world and she was and is perfect a healthy 7lb 13oz. We were glad to take her home the next day and so happy to introduce her to her proud sister. Life settled now and we enjoyed being in our little bubble.

"It was so horrible seeing her like that and not being able to help"

On the 21st Feb I had the contraceptive implant inserted in my arm but once home Amelie refused to breast feed which I knew was strange and she normally loved her milk she refused another feed and her cry changed. I was convinced it was a hormone from the implant making her refuse feeding so we took her to Bristol Children's Hospital. They were amazing and she was given antibiotics. After a test we were told it was late onset Group B strep. It was so horrible seeing her like that and not being able to help she got stronger and stronger and after 3 weeks we came home she is doing so so well we are so proud of our little fighter.
