Evan Summerfield

Evan Andrew Summerfield, aged 4 and a half months, was tragically taken from his mummy Shannon Summerfield and father Kristopher Adams from meningitis and septicaemia type B (MenB) in a matter of hours on 25th March 2015 leaving his family devastated.

Mummy's little "chub chub" was so precious and left an imprint on everybody's heart with his massive blue eyes and his cheeky smile. Mornings were special times for Evan and mummy -they would lie in bed and smile at each other whilst Evan tried to suck his toes. Only mummy new the secret tickle place where she could get a chuckle from him which was infectious.

"From the moment I laid eyes on my little "chub chub" I fell in love and felt a bond that can't be put in to words. I'm lost without him and I miss him. I feel so many emotions sometimes I don't feel able to carry on."

Evan’s dad Kristopher loved the times they spent together and is heartbroken as you can imagine.
Evan loved 64 Zoo Lane and In the Night Garden, especially Iggle Piggle, which went everywhere with him. When he was in his mummy's tummy Evan would kick away to the sound of Queen and his love of music showed when Shannon went to a gig where Evan's daddy was playing guitar in the band. He kicked and bounced around like he was having a party in the womb!

Evan has touched so many people’s hearts with his story. He even made front page news, spreading words of warning and raising awareness in our local paper which went viral.

Evan’s nannies, granddads, aunts, uncles, cousins and godparents miss and love him so very much and are there to help Shannon and Kristopher in any way they can.

"There's no foot so small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world."

Evan was only here for such a short time but managed to say one thing, "muh". This will stay with Shannon forever. The night before he passed away he was at the emergency doctors where he was treated for a viral infection, but we all know the ending to this. A video was taken (don't ask why) but his great gran put it on record. As if Evan knew what was happening he left us the best gift anyone could ask for: his first laugh without being tickled. The video is magical and irreplaceable - a memory to stay with us all forever.

Gone but never forgotten, the brightest star in the sky, the most beautiful angel watching over us all, loved by everyone.

Baptised 25 March 2015 at Derriford Hospital Plymouth, surrounded by loved ones and godparents who need no piece of paper, you know who you are.
