MRF remembers lives lost to meningitis at Christmas
This Christmas, Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) is giving you an opportunity to share your memory of a loved one with others who may be feeling like you do. Those who have been bereaved by meningitis and septicaemia are invited to share photos and memories in creation of a personalised “Star”, which will be displayed in a dedicated gallery and video on social media, in tribute to lives lost.

Bacterial meningitis and septicaemia is a deadly illness which kills hundreds of thousands of people around the world every year.

At Meningitis Research Foundation, we are dedicated to defeating meningitis as part of the WHO Global Roadmap to Defeat Meningitis by 2030. We work on behalf of those whose lives have been forever changed by the impact of meningitis, and in memory of those lost to this terrible disease.

Although Christmas is often a time for celebration, we know that it can be a difficult time for those living without their loved ones. That is why, each year, we dedicate our Christmas to remembering lives lost too soon to meningitis and septicaemia.

This year we are proud to launch a new platform which will allow you to create a “Remembrance Star” in memory of someone who died as a result of meningitis and sepsis.  This Star, created free of charge, is yours to share digitally or to print out and display wherever you would like. It will be included in a digital gallery, and in a special video which will be shared on our Facebook page and our website on Christmas Day.
You don’t have to donate to take part, as we want everyone to be able to participate. But, if you can donate, this will help support our vital work to defeat meningitis, including research, campaigning and support services

We know that the Christmas season can be a difficult time for those bereaved by meningitis, whether you celebrate it or not. Our Support Services are here for anyone struggling with bereavement, and can be contacted on 080 8800 3344 / helpine@meningitis.org / via live chat on our website.
