UK insurance company chooses MRF as charity partner

The award-winning health insurance and protection company, APRIL UK, has proudly voted Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) as their ‘Charity of the Year’ and will be raising vital funds throughout 2018.

MRF was chosen following a vote among staff at the company’s offices in Bradley Stoke, with MRF selected as the clear favourite. APRIL staff will host a series of monthly fundraising events during the year, with all proceeds going to the charity.

Sarah Buck, CEO at APRIL UK said, “We are proud to announce that our Charity of the Year for 2018 is Meningitis Research Foundation. We’re impressed by the work that MRF does supporting individuals and families affected by meningitis. With babies, toddlers and teenagers most at risk of the disease, it’s a worthy cause that we’re very keen to support. We have a fantastic team in APRIL so we’re excited to see what we can achieve this year to help MRF.”

Ian Beningfield, Head of Fundraising at MRF said, “We’re thrilled that APRIL UK have chosen us as their Charity of the Year and we’re delighted to begin working with them on fundraising initiatives that the whole company can enjoy. Meningitis and septicaemia can strike quickly, sometimes killing in hours, and leaving some survivors with life-changing after effects. The money raised by APRIL UK will help us to fund vital scientific research into the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis, raise awareness of the disease and support those affected.”

APRIL UK is part of the APRIL Group, a global insurance provider. The Group was formed in 1988 and set out to change the image of insurance by putting the customer at the heart of the organisation.
