Thanks go to Lincoln company for raising an incredible £19,000

Running Imp, a family-run business in Lincoln, has raised an incredible £19,000 for Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF).

Running Imp supplies event organisers with everything they could need from running event equipment to signage and trophies.

The company selected MRF to be its Charity of the Year in 2017 and donated money from the sale of medals and organised company fundraising events.

“It’s been a pleasure to raise funds for MRF – it’s a charity close to our hearts because one of our customers sadly lost their daughter to meningitis. The staff here have been committed to the cause and we’re proud to have raised so much for the charity that aims to defeat meningitis and septicaemia.” Chris Illsley, Chief Executive of Running Imp.

Cecily Morgan, Corporate and Major Gifts Fundraiser at MRF, attended a cheque presentation at the Running Imp offices on Wednesday 24 January.

Cecily said, “It’s been amazing to work with Running Imp over the past year and we are extremely grateful to them for raising these vital funds. Meningitis and septicaemia are deadly diseases that can strike without warning, killing one in ten, and leaving a third of survivors with life altering after-effects, some as serious as deafness, brain damage or limb loss. The money raised will help us to fund vital scientific research into the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis, raise awareness of the disease and support those affected.”
