#TeamMRF triumphs in the 2020 Virtual London Marathon
This weekend (October 3rd – 4th), the 2020 Virtual London Marathon took place. People from around the world who were due to run in the cancelled 2020 London Marathon were encouraged to run, jog or walk the 26.2-mile distance instead. Sixty-five #TeamMRF runners, who will hopefully still run in a future London Marathon, conquered the distance to raise a combined total of over £16,000 for Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF).

Through storms and sunshine, these dedicated individuals ran hundreds of miles to raise thousands of pounds for a world free from meningitis. Jenny Robinson, Senior Fundraising Manager at MRF, said: “Through country lanes, puddle-ridden roads and even up and down their own street, our brilliant runners each completed 26.2 miles. The Virtual London Marathon was a world first event, and they helped to raise over £16,000 for MRF during one of the strangest times in history. Without a doubt, #TeamMRF is the best team!”
We know that behind every runner is a team of friends, family, colleagues, loved ones and even pets that make it all possible. From everyone here at MRF, thank you to all of the participants of the 2020 Virtual London Marathon, and to everyone who has donated and supported along the way.

Together, we will defeat meningitis.
