Raising funds in memory of their GP

Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) would like to thank the patients of Dr John Spalding who have raised £1000 for the charity in his memory.

John, who was a GP in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, sadly died very suddenly from meningococcal septicaemia at Christmas in 2014.

Many of the members of the Chaddesley Corbett Masonic Lodge in Kidderminster were patients of John's and had great respect for him, his ability and his sympathetic manner, and for that reason chose to raise funds for MRF.

John’s wife Dianne is now an Ambassador for MRF and she collected the cheque from the Masonic Lodge on behalf of MRF at the GP practice where John worked.

Rob Dawson, Director of Support at MRF said, “Ever since John sadly passed away his local community has worked tirelessly to raise funds in his memory. It’s testament to how much people respected him. We are very grateful to the members of the Masonic Lodge for raising funds which will help us enormously with our vital work including our research, awareness and support programmes.”
