Great North Run & Great Manchester Run Cancelled

The Great Run company have announced their decision to cancel the 2020 Great North Run (GNR) and Great Manchester Run (GMR) due to the Coronavirus (COVID 19) outbreak.

We are offering all of our Team MRF GNR runners a place in the Great North Run 2021, which will take place on the 12th September. All Team MRF runners with a place in the GMR will receive a place in the Great Manchester Run 2021, on the 23rd May. All participants have been contacted by email with further information, and will receive their new 2021 token in the next few months to redeem.

Whilst this is disappointing news for everyone concerned, we encourage our runners to see this as an opportunity to raise even more funds and train for an even better finish time. Additionally, we are looking to host a virtual running event later this year which we hope will be a fun challenge in lieu of the Great North and Great Manchester events.

If you are affected by the cancellation please contact Jenny Robinson, Fundraising Manager on jennyr@meningitis.org with any questions or concerns.
