Initially, I had hydrocephalus and was hospitalised for procedural operation. However, the operation was unsuccessful. I revisited hospital for second hydrocephalus operation and contracted meningitis.

I was in hospital for two years, Kolkata and Aizawl (Mizoram). It was a long recovery with physiotherapy for twelve months or more, then further sessions.

Walking remains an ongoing problem. Balance issues are persistent, although this has improved somewhat. Four years now since first diagnosis. A lot of personal work, professional treatment, home guidance, overseas visits, all completed with various results. Still awaiting full recovery.

Seek prevention, or get early diagnosis if possible. Maintain daily exercise. Always hope for complete recovery, accept assistance when offered. Keep good humour. Have a loving spouse, or family member. Don't give up.
