Nyasia Soto's story

Nyasia talks about her symptoms when she contracted viral meningitis, and the worsening headaches she's experienced since her illness.

I was 8 when I contracted viral meningitis. I had a stiffened neck, bad headache, back aches, fatigue, etc. I also lost my balance. I was out of school for a month. I was treated and everything went well. Ever since I’ve been stuck with headaches, as I get older they get worse.

I went to the doctors and they say to me it was an after effect. I’m at the point where sometimes I can’t see when I get these headaches, or I call out of work or school because they are so bad. I cry when I get these headaches. Honestly they are driving me crazy, I don’t know what to do anymore.
