Lapland Husky Trail

All year round, Lapland, Dog Sledding

Lapland Husky Trail

Spend six days sledding through rolling highlands and deep forest into the heart of Lapland. An experience you will never forget

Ever dreamt of driving your own team of spirited huskies 250km across the Arctic from Norway to Sweden?

Join our Husky Trail Challenge and for six days you'll journey far from civilisation into the wilderness of Lapland. You'll bond with your own team of huskies, camp under the stars and finish at the world famous Ice Hotel in Jukarssarvi!

Your adventure begins in the city of Tromso at our Dog Sled Centre to meet some of our fellow mushers and your husky team. Get accustomed to the gear and spend your first night in a traditional Lavvu tent under reindeer skins next to a roaring fire.

For the next five days you'll cross ice valleys, weave through forests and cross from Norway into Sweden. You'll get training on how to pilot the sledge –  no previous dog sledding experience is necessary – just the will to do and the soul to dare! This is no ordinary Charity Challenge – you will be required to pitch your own tents and also cook for yourself using camping equipment provided.  As well as taking care of yourself, you will also be required to help harness, feed and clean up after the Team of Huskies – this is a real, “hands on” Challenge!

Watching the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and tending your dogs will help you gain a true feeling for living like a Laplander - a truly unforgettable experience.

By becoming part of our team you will be helping to bring a world free from meningitis and septicaemia a step closer.

Meningitis and septicaemia are devastating diseases which can kill or disable in hours. Although anyone of any age can get the diseases, babies, children and young adults are most at risk.

Your contribution will enable us to fund research into the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia, provide life-saving awareness information and support people who have lost a loved one or are coping with after effects, like Melinda and Amelia.
