Sarah Strawbridge's story

Sarah talks about her experience of being in intensive care with meningitis, and experiencing after-effects.

In 2003 I was suffering with violent headaches due to a fractured skull.

Doctors couldn’t diagnose what was wrong so was sent to Southampton general hospital. I was in there a month and lost a stone in weight.

I had meningitis with septicemia and nearly died from this experience. Was put in ICU after being in normal ward.

Nowadays I suffer from the after effects of meningitis and can’t do very much with this.
