David Dzierozynski's story

David shares his story of surviving TB meningitis as a child and the after-effects he's experienced since then.

Hi there.

I’m David and I’m a TB meningitis and grand mal convulsions survivor.

I contracted TB meningitis in 1971 where I was rushed to Sheffield Children’s Hospital seriously ill.

My mum told me I spent 2 years in hospital where at one point I was pronounced dead.

I was born right handed but the illness attacked my whole right side and so I had to re learn everything with my left side.

I'm left with disabilities, mainly mental ones. I suffer with chronic migraines and depression.
