Tom Fryman takes on the Three Peaks
04 June 2014
Tom Fryman, from Norwich, has set himself the gruelling challenge of completing the Three Peaks Challenge in aid of MRF.
Tom will be climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike on the 6th June in memory of his brother-in-law Ryan Sweatman, who died of meningitis in his first year of university, in 2012. To add to the tragedy, Ryan’s brother, Joe, had died of the same disease as a baby, 21 years beforehand.
Tom, who hopes to complete the challenge in just 24 hours, said: “The reason I'm taking on this challenge and raising money for MRF is because I lost my brother-in-law, who was also my very good mate, to meningitis at just 19 years old. His loss is felt so much in the family and we miss him every single day. Now that I'm a dad to Ryan's nephew Harrison, 18 months, I want to do everything I can to help protect him and all the other precious babies and children and by raising money to fund vital research. Losing Ryan was devastating for the family and we need to focus on helping others now.”
