Letter to Jeremy Hunt
27 April 2016
Ahead of the debate on Monday 25 April at the House of Commons about widening access to the Meningitis B vaccine, MRF and Dr Simon Nadel sent a letter to Jeremy Hunt on behalf of 269 scientists and clinicians.
The letter called for his intervention to ensure wider protection against MenB (meningococcal B meningitis and septicaemia) for the UK population and expressed disappointment at the government’s recent response to a petition supported by over 820,000 people (the country’s largest ever petition) to widen access to the MenB vaccine for children, simply citing cost effectiveness as a reason not to expand the programme.
