Good Luck Mike Needham

Good Luck Mike Needham

18 October 2012

Good Luck to MRF member Mike Needham who as part of his 'One Big Year' will be attempting to swim the equivalent width of the English Channel (34km) in a pool tomorrow.

The pool in question is at Bannatynes Queensway in Birmingham – at 18 metres in length, which will mean that he will have to swim 1,889 lengths, which could take anywhere between 12.5 – 15 hours to complete.

Anyone who would like to support him is welcome. The kind chaps at Bannatynes Gym will be providing free day passes to the gym for all those who wish to go along and the lovely spa girls will be providing Indian Head massages for £5 a pop – the full amount of which will go to One Big Year’s charity funds – so if you have had a stressful week, then there is no better opportunity than tomorrow to relax and unwind!

If there are any strong swimmers out there – please feel free to jump in the pool and act as a pacer whether it is for 10 minutes or an hour! Mike contracted a virus over the weekend which has meant that while he is recovering, he's not firing on all cylinders – so any help/ motivation would be very much appreciated!

A big thank you to everyone who has come out to support Mike 'One BIG Year' so far – special thanks go to the West Midlands OAS who hosted a fantastic night last Thursday in aid of One Big Year! To those who wish to donate – please visit www.one-big-year.org
