My daughter had viral meningitis at 9 weeks of age. Now, at 7, we see her performing extraordinarily in math and science, but struggling with reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing to topic (main idea and details). As an elementary teacher myself, I saw early on that she was not progressing in reading and writing as she should when compared to her achievement in the hard sciences. Hi :) I'm 17yo and have had meningitis twice with no long term side effects, though I have also have/had bronchitus, Nephrotics Syndrome, T1 diabetes and recently lost my sight due to cataracts but now regained after surgury.
I've never met or really heard of anyone who has had meningitus twice before and most people don't believe me when I tell them about my medical history
