Hi, my name is Lisa and I had H Flu Bacterial Meningitis in 1980. I was a little over a year old. I was in a comma for a few weeks. I am now 29 years old and my health is getting worse. Some problems are: Balance problems, loss of feeling and movement in left leg and foot, headaches, chest hurting, tremors and spams, bladder problems and lack of memory, I can only remember snipits of my life- when most people can remember their whole life. 40 years after viral meningitis h

I am having substantial neurological issues. I often wonder if there is any relation of my symptoms that became very pronounced 20 years after the meningitis. I was tested in 2005 and was found to have herpes 3-7 and was told that the demylenation in my brain may be due to the porosity of the blood brain barrier created by the viral meningitis. I really need some guidence now as I have developed painful symptoms. Thank you for your Iinput.

Hi my name is Kim Butler and I am currently a 4th year student in St Nicholas Montessori College Ireland. I am in the process of completing my dissertation and I have chosen to research the effects meningitis has on the processing skills. I have chosen this has a have a huge interest in finding out more detail about the illness of meningitis and what the different effects it has had on other people.
