TB Meningitis

My brother in law is currently being treated for TB Meningitis. He is in ICU on a ventilator, feeding tube and drain to relieve fluid on brain. He has suffered hyrdrocephalus and has been in a non responsive state for 3 weeks. The TB meds were not started until 10 days after he was admitted to the hospital. He was in a minimally conscious state at the point when he started the TB medication. He has also suffered several strokes and seizures. Has anyone experienced a similar situation? What was the outcome? How long did it take to see...

Viral meningitis

I had viral meningitis when I was 32 I am now 77- I was very very ill,taken by ambulance ( blue light) to Isolation Hospital and put in a glass isolation cubicle.I was there for a fortnight- off work for 2 months - I had a lumber puncture and had to lay flat until the fluid returned. I suffered cluster headaches for many many years.Long term effects - changed personality, severe neck pain and periods of extreme tiredness.Why most references to viral meningitis say you don't need to go to hospital and you recover in a week certainly ignore...
