The Grand Ball really lived up to its name, raising a grand £37,500 for our work.
Over 150 friends of the charity, from all across the UK, gathered together for a wonderful evening of dining and dancing in Covent Garden last week. They looked glamorous and laughed a lot but they were also extremely generous, dipping into their bank accounts to buy the wonderful auction lots our supporters had donated. They ranged from a Team GB Paralympic vest and a holiday in Marrakesh to bottles of wine and boxes of chocolates.
We were treated to a very funny and moving speech by our patron Norman Pace and his daughter Holly. And several of our voluntary Ambassadors attended, sharing their inspiring, personal experiences with guests.
A big thank you to everyone who supported us and came along on the night. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun too. Such a pleasurable way to raise funds with friends!
