About the event

We’ve got just the mission to keep you super-active this summertime!  Sponsored by Marvel and Disney it is enourmous fun for both children and grown-ups.

Superhero Tri

The Superhero Tri takes place on the 12th August 2023 and is a UK disability sports event for children and adults: a fun, pressure-free day of sports which puts people with disabilities first. The Tri involves the classic stages of swimming, cycling and running/pushing but with no cut-off times or restrictions on equipment. Captains and their Sidekicks take part as a team so it’s a real group effort and a great day out for everyone!

The event at Dorney Lake allows Superheroes to share the challenge with friends and family or ‘fly solo’ for all three stages. Each team will ideally have a Captain (a person under the age of 18 who identifies as having a disability of any kind) and up to five Sidekicks (any friends or family who choose to take part in the challenge). There are three distances to choose from and many ways to take part in the Tri. You can use floats or be towed in a vessel in the water, and all types of adaptive bikes, wheelchairs and gadets are welcome in the cycle and run/push stages. The three distances to choose from are;

  • Sprint Superhero Tri - Swim 150m, Bike 3km, Push/run 1km
  • Half Superhero Tri - Swim 400m, Bike 10km, Push/run 2.5km
  • Full Superhero Tri - Swim 750m, Bike 20km, Push/run 5km

Helping to defeat meningitis

We are continuing towards our goal of a world free from meningitis and septicaemia and we can only do that with support from people like you.

To help reach that goal you can set up a team JustGiving page to share with your friends and family and set your own target to help raise vital funds. This event has no minimum fundraising target, just raise whatever you can!

Your contribution will enable us to fund vital research into the disease, provide life-saving awareness information, and support those who have lost a loved one or are coping with the after effects of this disease.
