Great North Run 2026

Join #TeamMRF and take part in the world’s largest half marathon, to run for a world free from meningitis.

Why join #TeamMRF at the Great North Run?

A highlight of the Great North Run is the incredible Geordie welcome. You will be cheered on by thousands of supporters lining the streets as you make your way across Newcastle.

Starting in the city centre, the electric atmosphere will carry you across the iconic Tyne Bridge, through Gateshead, before crossing the finish line and celebrating your achievement in the coastal town of South Shields.

By taking part in the Great North Run for Meningitis Research Foundation, you will not just be racing to the finish line – you will be racing to defeat meningitis.
