About the event

Join us on Sunday 26th April 2020 to raise vital funds and help save the UK's charities

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of many events and loss of tens of thousands of pounds of income for us and many other charities.

Every 2.6 minutes another person dies from meningitis somewhere in the world and so that’s why we are joining the nationwide '2.6 Challenge' and asking our supporters to take part to raise life-saving funds for Meningitis Research Foundation at this crucial time.

We’re asking you to take part in an activity of your choice based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 and fundraise or donate £26. People of all ages are taking on The 2.6 Challenge with a host of activities – from walking, running or cycling 2.6 miles, juggling for 2.6 minutes, to holding online workouts with 26 friends. The ideas and options are endless!

How does it work?

  1. 1.Dream up your 2.6 challenge – run 2.6 miles, spend 26 minutes climbing the stairs in full climbing gear, do 26 pancakes flips its up to you!
  2.
  3. 2.Follow the link below to donate £26 or to set up a fundraising page through our special 2.6 challenge link
  4.
  5. 3. Ask all your friends and family to sponsor you and challenge them to do their own 2.6 Challenge. Kids can skip 26 times, grandparents could do 26 laps of their kitchen, friends could do a 26 pull ups, anything you can think of!
  6.
  7. 4.Complete your challenge on the 26th April  and share a photo or video on social media with #TwoPointSixChallenge

The only requirement is that you must follow Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing.

How you're helping

The £26 you raise will gave 2,000 new Mums life saving information about their baby. £26 pays for the costs of including meningitis information in 2,000 ‘child health record books’, which every new mum gets after giving birth.

In these uncertain times, we know that keeping our newborns safe and well feels more important than ever.

So join the nation in saving our UK charities by providing that vital support that Meningitis Research Foundation needs to continue its mission in defeating meningitis. And have a little fun at the same time!
