Shots4Meningitis 2026 golf outing: a success story
The Becky Werner Meningitis Foundation’s twentieth annual golf outing sold out in only five days.
Complete the form below and the CoMO membership team will review your blog for publication on the site.
The members’ voices blog is a space to share your meningitis news, updates, opinions and experiences with the wider CoMO network. Our aim is to inspire and inform members of global meningitis information while giving visibility and celebrating the work of our members.
Once we have received your application, the CoMO membership team will review the blog content. We reserve the right to edit the copy to fit with our editorial guidelines for word count, style, language and images. A select number of members’ voices blogs will be featured in the monthly CoMO newsletter to share your stories with other members within the CoMO network. Please note that newsletter inclusions will only be featured if the blog has been submitted via the member portal.
Blogs of exceptional quality may be upgraded to the main Meningitis Research Foundation news and blogs page, and could be featured within our communications.
When writing your blog, focus on telling the story of your recent meningitis-related activities and what you learned from them. Unlike a short newsletter update, a blog post should also include background information, so readers understand what you or your organisation does and the work that led up to the activity.
See examples of members’ voices blogs.
Your post should be a maximum of 500 words. Keep your writing concise and engaging, breaking it into short paragraphs.
A clear and engaging title is essential and your post should begin with a short introduction explaining the activity or topic. Follow this with some background about your organisation and why the activity is important. The main section should describe what happened, the impact of your work and what you learned. Finish with your key takeaways and, if appropriate, a call to action (signposting to your website or social media), so readers know how they can learn more or get involved.
Think of your blog as telling a story to a friend – clear, interesting and full of real experiences.
We recommend including two to four high-quality images to make your post more appealing.
These should be:
If you are featuring children under the age of 18, you will need to obtain a consent form for us to use these images. Make sure you have permission to use them.
In the blog text, specify where each image should go and add a short caption explaining what the image shows.
Try to find images of you or someone from your organisation interacting with people, or a group shot of everyone there.
Examples are shown below:
Our readers come from many countries and their first language may be different to yours. Keep your language simple and clear. Avoid acronyms where possible; if you do use them, spell them out the first time. Aim for a friendly and informative tone, with short, direct sentences. If you submit your entry in your own language, we will translate this into English before publishing.
Try to show what the blog post is about in an engaging way. Keep the title under 10 words. Some examples of engaging titles include:
Along with your blog, please provide a short overview of up to 20 words summarising the content. This will be used as a preview on our website. You may also add a link to your website or contact page if you wish.
Once you have submitted your blog and it has been approved, it will be uploaded to the CoMO members’ voices page. We may promote it on all official CoMO channels. By submitting the content to us, you give us consent to use the images and text on all our promotional channels (such as our social media, newsletter and website).
We want to ensure all members have the opportunity to be represented. If you have already had more than one blog published on the CoMO website in the past six months, we may delay your next post to give others the chance to be featured.
