Serah Lagdom

My daughter was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis when she was three months old. She is now two years old and still can’t sit, talk and walk.

I‘d like to learn as well as share our experience and get support from CoMO to advocate for awareness of vaccines for meningitis prevention in Papua New Guinea.

I hope to use my skills as a journalist to raise the issues of low immunisation rates in Papua New Guinea, and share my daughter’s journey and story so that other parents whose children are also survivors of Meningitis come on board with me. I would also like to mobilise health professionals to support a strong and wide vaccination programme in Papua New Guinea.
