Legacy Children’s Initiative (LCI) was initiated with the commitment to transform the most vulnerable livelihoods and communities to live a better life through mitigating the root causes of their vulnerabilities.
LCI is currently raising awareness of meningitis in Namutumba District (Uganda) through community education programs via schools, churches and village meetings.
We are engaging local health leaders to share accurate information about meningitis prevention and treatment; conduct awareness sessions; mobilize communities; and distribute flyers.
In the future, we plan to expand these activities to reach more districts across Uganda by using TV and social media campaigns, organizing larger community health camps, and partnering with healthcare providers to support vaccination and early diagnosis. We also aim to strengthen advocacy efforts for improved healthcare policies and sustainable meningitis prevention programs. Through these ongoing and future efforts, we hope to create lasting awareness and reduce meningitis cases in our communities and Uganda at large.
