Katie Thompson is a bacterial meningitis survivor, having contracted the disease as a freshman in college in 2005.
Katie is also an artist, writer and advocate. She shares her story to help educate others on the devastation meningitis can bring, in hopes to help eradicate the disease. Katie began her advocacy journey in the non-profit arts community, and is an internationally exhibited artist and published author. She is a mother of two and wife, and resides outside of Charleston, South Carolina (USA).
