I am a doctor in my country, but I learned about the existence of CoMO due to a situation that I experienced.
I have a young daughter who, at 24 days old, presented with fever and irritability; the diagnosis was meningitis. I can say that facing the disease as a health professional is not the same as facing the disease as a patient.
During my daughter’s hospitalization, I had a lot to think about and, as I sought to resolve the uncertainty about her condition, I got to know about CoMO. Now, thank God, my daughter seems to be fine, and although we continue undergoing check-ups and therapies, I think we have been very lucky. Seeing this situation, I have the desire to learn more, raise awareness about this terrible disease, and try to help as much as I can as a doctor and as the family member of a patient.
