CADEC focuses on programs geared toward wealth creation, social justice, sexualities, and health education. Through education and participatory approaches, their initiatives aim to create and enhance sustainable environments, livelihood, self-esteem, economic empowerment, community development and good governance. In health education, CADEC takes a participatory approach and works with community members to educate them on preventive health issues. In line with this, CADEC is actively promoting the uptake of vaccines and immunisation services in the Nigerian community.
Advocacy
CADEC employs advocacy as a strategic mechanism to influence policymakers, stakeholders, and public sentiment, with the objective of supporting, collaborating on, and implementing activities that address social, environmental, and humanitarian concerns. This strategy aims to enhance awareness, galvanise public backing, and engage decision-makers to advance its initiatives or agenda for the good of the citizens. This can be achieved through evidence-based research, community engagement, and grassroots mobilisation. Furthermore, we represent marginalised groups and collaborate with influential entities, including governments and corporations.
Community Engagement
CADEC engages community members in exploring, planning, and acting together on their priority issues, as this can be a powerful way to strengthen collective capacity and improve programme equity and effectiveness. We strongly believe that community members, leaders, and organisations play a central role in developing humanitarian initiatives that affect them. Through this approach, we seek to strengthen the link between people and systems, structures, and services.
