Requests for outreach

Request for someone from Meningitis Research Foundation to visit and share vital information about the disease, signs and symptoms and the vaccines available.

Outreach is a vital part of our work. We travel across the UK, visiting communities to talk to people about: 

  • What meningitis is. 
  • Signs and symptoms of the disease. 
  • Possible after-effects for people affected. 
  • The vaccines that can help protect us from meningitis. 
  • How Meningitis Research Foundation supports those affected.  
  • The work we’re doing to defeat meningitis.

In June, one of our year 13 students contracted meningitis. Luckily they were able to identify the symptoms quickly because of a tutor time session they had about the illness.

One of their friends commented that this session was invaluable to them, as they would not be able to recognise the symptoms or know of the illness without having been taught this knowledge.

Ambassadors

We have Ambassadors – people whose lives have been touched by meningitis – based all across the UK. They bravely share their stories in their communities, to help people understand the impact of meningitis, and the importance of defeating it.  

We can join your events, activities and groups to: 

– Host stalls. Chatting to people and giving away free materials. 
– Do presentations. Explaining more about the disease.  
– Join talks. Sharing experiences and impacts of meningitis.
