Said Denise Vaughan, Chief Executive of Meningitis Research Foundation, "Too many people still experience the devastation of meningitis and septicaemia. Meningitis and septicaemia are life-threatening diseases, which can strike anyone of any age. Knowing the signs and symptoms of these diseases and acting quickly is therefore essential.
Although there are vaccines, which give excellent protection against meningitis and septicaemia, they cannot prevent all forms of these diseases. It is therefore vital for everyone to 'Get up to Speed with Meningitis.'
