Less is more - Slimathon 2005 for Meningitis Research Foundation

04 January 2005

Meningitis Research Foundation is looking for local people to do themselves and the charity a world of good by joining Slimathon 2005.

Your loss could be the Foundation's gain. As your pounds and ounces fall off, the pounds and pennies pile up for the Foundation's work in tackling meningitis and septicaemia - diseases that still claim hundreds of lives every year and particularly affect the under-fives.

Taking part in Slimathon 2005 is easy - choose a way to lose that suits you and get your family, friends and colleagues to sponsor you for every disappearing pound between January 31 and Easter.

Make the first move to a new you by calling the Slimline on 01454 281814 or emailing fundraising@meningitis.org to receive your free Slimathon information pack.

What progress is being made?

Since it was founded in 1989, the charity has awarded 122 research grants, leading to many advances in the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia. The total value of the Foundation's investment in vital scientific research is nearly £13.5/€19 million.
