Tamworth resident delighted by award nomination having raised £13,000 for charity

A resident of Tamworth for 45 years, Janine Nolan, is delighted to have been nominated and chosen as a finalist by the Tamworth public for the ‘Charity Fundraiser’ award.

The finalists in the ‘Charity Fundraiser’ category will now be judged on the personal effort involved in their fundraising.

There will be a presentation evening on Friday 3rd February, held at Drayton Manor Tower Suite, where the winners of all the local awards will be announced. MP Christopher Pincher will be in attendance, as will athlete Meghan Beesley.

For 18 years Janine has been a committed community fundraiser, given her time to help those around her, raising over £13,000 for Air ambulance, Medic Alert and Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF).

She has tirelessly organised coffee mornings, book sales and raffles. She has been known to stand in the rain with collection buckets and has spent 30 hours manning awareness stalls at Ankerside Shopping Centre.

Rob Dawson, Head of Support at MRF said, “Meningitis is a deadly disease, which kills one in ten who contract it. Raising funds and awareness is essential to saving lives. Over the years Janine has become one of MRF’s most highly respected fundraisers and we are so grateful for her fundraising efforts in Tamworth. That’s why we nominated her for this award and she’s a very deserving finalist. We wish Janine all the best of luck on the night.”
