Prepare for the Sh! Awards 2010
14 June 2010
The annual Sh! Awards is an opportunity for the brightest young things in the field of design to showcase their work in front of a panel of industry experts, with money raised on the night coming to MRF.
Hosted by Leeds-based communications agency Brahm, the awards are the legacy of talented young designer Stuart Hocknell who died from meningitis in 2002. Described as someone who 'loved life and loved design', the Sh! awards were created in his memory to nurture young talented designers in Yorkshire.
MRF attended last year's Sh! Awards and we were amazed at the scope of the talent on show, both in traditional graphic design and in newer media such as video. Last year's awards were excellent, with guests treated to examples of the students' submissions punctuated by visits from several walking games consoles - volunteers with Nintendo Wiis strapped to their chests and LCD TVs on their backs and encouraging guests to play. Brilliant. It looks like this year's entries are living up to the same standard.
We're looking forward to seeing who wins this year...
You can support the Sh! awards by buying tickets for the raffle to be held on the night.
