Norfolk man promises to skydive naked if he raises over £1000

09 August 2012

A man from Norfolk is taking part in a tandem skydive on Saturday 25th August 2012 in memory of his friend, Ryan Sweatman, who sadly died (aged 19) in January 2012 after contracting meningococcal septicaemia.

Anthony Allen will jump from 10,000ft at Beccles Heliport Ellough Airfield in Suffolk in aid of national charity Meningitis Research Foundation (MRF) and has promised to do it naked if he manages to raise over £1000!

Anthony said: “I decided to take on this challenge because I wanted to raise money for MRF in memory of Ryan. I have known the Sweatman family for a very long time so I wanted to do it for all of them as well. I’m really looking forward to the skydive and hope that the money I make will go towards helping raise awareness of this disease and prevent other families being affected.”

Chris Head, Chief Executive of MRF, said: “We are extremely grateful to Anthony for taking on this challenge as we really do rely on voluntary donations to fund our vital work into the prevention, detection and treatment of meningitis and septicaemia. Every penny raised through his tandem parachute jump will make a huge difference and enable us to continue our work.”
