Lorraine Smyth is GI Jane
24 March 2010
Congratulations to Lorraine Smyth from Dromara who beat off stiff competition to become our newly crowned GI Jane 2010
In the contest, arranged by our Northern Ireland office, women kitted out in army attire and camouflage were put
through their paces military style in a series of physical and mental challenges.
Lorraine was pushed all the way by runner up Jenny Boyd from Bangor (pictured below receiving her prize) and Aileen Moore from Portstewart, who finished in third place.
Team Prizes were taken by ‘Smyth Pepper’ (Lorraine Smyth from Dromara and Catherine Pepper from Dromore), and ‘The Hillbillies’ consisting of Rachel Bennett from Ballynahinch, Amy Dodds from Newcastle, Heather Dodds from Newcastle and Paula Graham from Rathfriland.
Thanks to the efforts of all the participants the total raised for the Foundation from this tremendous event currently stands at £7669.64.
Well done ladies
