Catching your death - the impact of serious infectious diseases

This conference illustrates outcomes from serious neurological infections, highlights similarities between the sequelae theses infections produce, and consider what patients, parents and rehabilitation specialists can do about achieving the best outcomes after a serious neurological infection.

It will be of particular interest to health and allied professionals in rehabilitation medicine, community paediatricians, child development teams, neurologists, neuropsychologists, clinical psychologists, speech-language therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, primary care health professionals, link workers, and medico-legal specialists.

Chaired by Professor Tom Solomon, Professor of Neurological Science, University of Liverpool

Speakers include:

  • Dr Andrew Curran, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist - cognitive development
  • Prof Richard Knight, Professor of Clinical Neurology & Honorary Consultant Clinical Neurologist – behavioural and emotional issues
  • Bonnie-Kate Dewar, Clinical Neuropsychologist, Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College, London – psycho-social development
  • Physical and sensory sequelae will also be addressed
  • Individuals with experience of seeking care and support for the consequences of neurological infection.
