Ethan's Ball is roaring success

Ethan's Ball is roaring success

01 October 2009

Bridgwater couple Craig and Anthea Berry held their annual black tie fundraiser – Ethan’s Ball – on 26 September to raise money for us. They raised over £8,500 in one night through the kindness of guests at the ball.

The Berrys have been supporting MRF since 2004 when they lost their son Ethan to meningitis. In five years of Membership they’ve raised over £50,000 to help our vital work.

Craig and Anthea BerryLast week was national Meningitis Awareness Week. Anthea and Craig helped MRF spread our vital awareness messages throughout Somerset, appearing in the press, on radio and on TV to share their experience of the disease and warn parents and carers of young children to be aware of the symptoms of meningitis and septicaemia.

Neil Hardman says: “Craig and Anthea have been amazing supporters of MRF, both through their fundraising and by putting themselves forward to talk to the media and raise awareness. Their help and support has been instrumental in raising awareness of meningitis in the South-West. We can’t thank them enough. Thanks also to all the guests at Ethan's Ball for raising such a huge amount. We're immensely grateful.”
