19 December 2016
Meningitis Research Foundation were delighted to receive a donation of £4,175.70 from The Dome, one of Edinburgh’s most loved landmarks.
The Dome nominated MRF as charity of the month for November with money from each bill going towards supporting MRF’s work in the fight meningitis and septicaemia. Hundreds of symptoms cards were also given out to visitors during the month of fundraising.
MRF Community Fundraiser, Katie Yule said ‘We are delighted to receive such a generous donation from The Dome and would like to thank all of their customers for their support.
'We are grateful to The Dome for giving us the opportunity to raise much needed awareness of meningitis and septicaemia and their symptoms.
'At this time of year, people are at higher risk of contracting meningitis because they are more likely to be exposed to meningitis bacteria, and more likely to be susceptible while they are fighting off winter colds and flu.’
