Hanna Newsome

Sue Newsome's daughter, Hanna (pictured right), was ill with pneumococcal meningitis when she was just 13 months old and is now profoundly deaf.

Sue says, "With Hanna having had a cochlear implant and learning to sign well, I am feeling very optimistic about the future. Meningitis Research Foundation has helped me reach that position by putting me in touch with one of their trained befrienders who understood what I was going through and providing me with up-to-date research and information."
