"When I fell ill with meningococcal septicaemia I spent a week in intensive care on life support. I slowly but surely made a good recovery. In all it took nine months before feeling fit enough to resume full time employment.

"My wife, Jane, and I, approached Meningitis Research Foundation to access information about the disease and the after effects. Having this information, Jane and I realised how lucky I had been and felt we must help the Foundation. We are now feeling confident enough to present Awareness Talks and to raise funds in our local area."
