Bunker to Banquet for MRF

Bunker to Banquet for MRF

17 June 2009

On Friday 19 June Sir Ian Wood will host the eleventh annual Scottish fundraiser, Bunker to Banquet. This fantastic annual event has raised £400,000 to date and consists of a Golf Day held at Inchmarlo, Deesside with 20 corporate teams battling to be crowned champions, before decanting to an evening Gala Banquet  at the Marcliffe Hotel in Pitfodels.

MRF patron Norman Pace will host the evening accompanied by wife Beverley and joined by 21-year old daughter Holly who suffered meningitis as a young child and will speak about her experience.

Guests will arrive to the songs of piper Fraser Maitland for a champagne reception and speech by MRF Chief Executive Christopher Head.

Rita Crowe, Scotland Manager of Meningitis Research Foundation, says: “Bunker to Banquet has grown in popularity over the eleven years it's been running. It wouldn't be possible without to the support of Sir Ian Wood and his family, to whom we owe our deepest thanks. We're also privileged to have the Pace family in attendance, and look forward to Holly's speech."
