Helping Us

Justgiving.com

Justgiving.com

Meningitis Research Foundation has linked up with justgiving.com to provide you with an easy and effective way to collect sponsors and money for your Foundation event.

It takes just five minutes to set up your own web page at justgiving.com. Just log on to www.justgiving.com/charity/mrf and follow the instructions to build your page. Once your page is complete, you can email the page's address to family, friends and colleagues. They will then be able to donate on-line with a credit or debit card.

Advantages of setting up your own page include:

  • It's quick and easy
  • You can make the page personal by, for instance, including your photo and updating the page as your fundraising progresses
  • Forgetting about the hassle of cash and cheques - the money is transferred securely and quickly
  • It's available to all, so you could be raising money from people you've never met
  • Every time someone sponsors you, you receive an email notification
  • You can access a page which gives you a breakdown of the money you raise through your page

It couldn't be easier. But don't just take our word for it, hear what some of our supporters have to say:

'The site has allowed me to collect hundreds of pounds with minimal effort on my behalf' - Graham Burns, London Marathon Runner

'Setting up a web page for my sponsored run was easy. It saved lots of time and effort and helped me raise more money that I could ever have hoped for' - Debbie Slater, Great North Runner

And to see how it all works, here is a selection of supporters who are already using justgiving. Click on the address in the box  to see their page in full.

Jon O'Shea continues his quest to become a member of the Marathon Grand Slam Club. To achieve this he needs to complete a marathon on every continent. Having already run in Europe, North America and Africa, this year Jon's going for India and the North Pole.
Matthew and Corinna are asking for donations to the Foundation instead of wedding presents. All donations in memory of Rhys who died of meningitis aged 16.
Andrew and Lorraine Williams are running the Great Manchester Run in memory of their daughter Caitlin. Andrew's running as the Foundation's mascot, Marvin the Monster.
Arthur Burgess is competing in the New York Marathon. His daughter Erin survived a scare with meningococcal septicaemia when she was three years old.
Holly Osborne had meningitis in 2005, now she's fit and well and running the Great North Run for the Foundation. Please support her.
Kay Hollingworth's climbing Kilimanjaro for her sister Ruth.
Laura Leonard and her mates are running the Bristol half marathon as the Adventurous Moomins Team, after Laura's daughter, Lydia, had a narrow escape from pneumococcal meningitis.
