Richard Bell

Meningococcal disease

Viv Bell contracted meningococcal septicaemia in May 2008. Viv was in a coma for 12 weeks and lost both legs from the knee down, as well as her fingers and the use of one hand. Here, Richard Bell talks from a husband's perspective about coping with Viv's illness both in hospital and during the long road to recovery, and his admiration for the accomplishments of his "beautiful wife".
