Gill Currie

MRF Research Officer

Hi, my name is Gill and my role puts me in contact with all the research projects that the charity is funding. I have a degree in Medical Microbiology and chose a project on meningitis for my final year dissertation.

Along with the administration and monitoring of grants, I also help to promote research and translate scientific information from the projects into more manageable information for this website, social media and press releases.

Another important way to link people to our research is through our Discovery Days, which I help manage. Our biannual scientific conference in London and smaller annual symposiums in Bristol are also big dates in my calendar, where I liase with our scientific presenters and researchers and help promote networking amongst attendees.

Having the opportunity to follow the latest research into meningitis and septicaemia is a real privilege, and seeing the impact this has on families is really inspiring.
